Data Sharing Policy

Data Sharing Policy

Diwan Al-Ma'rifah Journal for Applied and Human Sciences supports transparency, research reproducibility, and the responsible sharing of research data. Authors are encouraged to make the data underlying their published findings available whenever this is ethically, legally, and practically possible.

Research data may include datasets, questionnaires, interview materials, laboratory results, statistical files, images, code, protocols, and other materials necessary to verify or reproduce the results of the study.

Authors are encouraged to:

  • Deposit research data in a recognized institutional, disciplinary, or general-purpose repository.
  • Provide a persistent link, DOI, or other identifier for the deposited data.
  • Include a clear data availability statement in the manuscript.
  • Describe any conditions, restrictions, or procedures required to access the data.
  • Ensure that shared data are accurate, complete, appropriately documented, and anonymized where necessary.
  • Comply with applicable ethical approvals, informed-consent requirements, privacy rules, and legal obligations.

A data availability statement should indicate one of the following:

  • The data are openly available in a named repository.
  • The data are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request.
  • The data are included within the article or its supplementary files.
  • The data cannot be shared because of ethical, legal, privacy, confidentiality, security, or commercial restrictions.
  • No new data were created or analyzed in the study.

Authors must not share personal, confidential, sensitive, or identifiable information without appropriate consent and legal authorization. Where human participants are involved, data must be anonymized or de-identified before sharing, unless explicit consent permits otherwise.

Editors or reviewers may request access to relevant data during the review process when necessary to verify the accuracy, integrity, or reproducibility of the research. Such data will be treated confidentially and used only for evaluation purposes.

The journal does not require unrestricted public sharing when legitimate ethical, legal, or confidentiality restrictions apply. However, authors must clearly explain any limitations on data access.

Failure to provide requested data without a valid justification may result in suspension of the review process, rejection of the manuscript, correction of the published article, or other appropriate editorial action
