Authorship Policy

Authorship Policy

Diwan Al-Ma'rifah Journal for Applied and Human Sciences follows internationally recognized principles of authorship, academic integrity, accountability, and transparency. Authorship must be limited to individuals who have made a substantial and meaningful contribution to the research and preparation of the manuscript.

To qualify as an author, an individual should meet the following criteria:

  • Make a significant contribution to the conception or design of the study, data collection, analysis, interpretation, or development of the research.
  • Participate in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.
  • Review and approve the final version of the manuscript before publication.
  • Accept responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and ethical conduct of the work.

All listed authors must approve the submission of the manuscript and agree to its publication in the journal. Each author is responsible for the content of the article and must cooperate in resolving any questions concerning the accuracy or integrity of the research.

Author Order

The order of authors must be agreed upon by all contributors before submission. The journal does not determine authorship order and will not resolve disputes related to the sequence of authors.

Corresponding Author

The corresponding author is responsible for:

  • Communicating with the journal during submission, peer review, revision, and publication.
  • Ensuring that all authors have reviewed and approved the manuscript.
  • Providing accurate information about authors’ names, affiliations, email addresses, and contributions.
  • Informing all co-authors of editorial decisions and required revisions.

Changes in Authorship

Any request to add, remove, or rearrange authors after submission must include a written explanation and the approval of all listed and affected authors. Such changes are subject to editorial approval. Changes requested after acceptance or publication may require the publication of a formal correction.

Unacceptable Authorship Practices

The journal does not accept:

  • Gift or honorary authorship: including individuals who did not make a substantial contribution.
  • Ghost authorship: excluding individuals who made a significant contribution.
  • Guest authorship: adding a person’s name to increase the apparent credibility of the manuscript.
  • Misrepresentation of authors’ contributions or affiliations.

Individuals who contributed to the work but do not meet the criteria for authorship may be acknowledged in the acknowledgements section, provided that their permission has been obtained.

Contributors’ Statement

The journal may require a statement describing each author’s contribution to the study, such as conceptualization, methodology, data collection, analysis, writing, review, supervision, or funding acquisition.

All authors must disclose any conflicts of interest, sources of funding, institutional support, or other relationships that could influence the research or its interpretation.
